'Vertigo' is a Haunting Masterpiece

On the surface, Mason's latest Music Video is simply another installment in his extensive catalogue - but there's more to it than meets the eye.

Mason Crosses Paths With His Future

We begin at a party where everyone is enjoying themselves - except for Mason. This is the first sign that something isn't right. He decides to leave, meeting his driver outside the venue.

We cut to a (beautiful) Drone shot of the CityLink Sound Tube in Flemington, Melbourne, as Mason's car is seen from high above on its way to a Live Event. When the car arrives it is immediately swarmed by Paparazzi, wherein a Security Member (played by BMoney) helps Mason out of the car and into the back corridors of the building.

Throughout the following sequences Mason appears dazed, having to lean against the corridor as he stumbles into the Main Theatre. This is the defining moment in the video, where the line between the present and the future blurs. Upon entering the Theatre we realize the Performing Act is actually a different version of Mason. He is fast, sporadic and dons a long, black coat - reminiscent of a Vampire. In fact, the tone of the entire project (audio included) seems eerily Vampiric - unsettling at the least.

In the Final Act our two versions of Mason cross paths. A well-framed side angle (courtesy of Estefan Velazquez) displays the man on-stage reaching his hand down, as if to invite (present) Mason up aswell - perhaps to take his place. The mysterious ending leaves more questions than answers, raising doubts about who the 'good guy' really is.
