Lachnes' Interview | CLUB TALK
The keen eye may recognise Lachnes from a feature on BMoney’s song ‘Payroll’, which released late last year. The musician has since teamed up with Club Moon Media to create a standalone single, music video and sit-down interview – the latter of which we’ll be covering today.
When asked about his plans for 2025, Lachnes seemed quite busy.
“Mixtape maybe. [A] couple of singles, I’m just trying to figure out my sound really – experimenting with all different things. [I want to] create a group that want to work on music.”
It sounds like he’s been focused on building his creative identity, trying new and unique concepts that push the envelope while simultaneously remaining true to his character.
The artist describes working with Club Moon Media as ‘really helpful’ due to the amount of time he gets to spend between their various Studio Locations, as well as the people he has met through the company.
“It’s hard for Australian Artists to make a sizeable living or even a sustainable income or have fans. I feel as though a lot of people are either attracted towards what’s popular or they like what’s going on in America.”
Here, Lachnes touches on the struggles Australian Musicians face – amongst themselves and the rest of the world. He believes it’s a content game, mentioning that posting regularly on TikTok can, over time, amass something of a following. He himself has been posting on TikTok and Instagram Reels more recently, showing new and existing listeners what’s in store.
“Keep hungry, keep working. For the young people that are making music – just do it because you love it.”
For Lachnes, these words come from a place of experience. He understands that superficial Musicians lose traction as trends die, while authentic artists continue pushing boundaries and remaining timeless – limitless. By focusing on making music because you love it the artist puts the numbers aside, therefore eliminating any anxiety around the way each release will be perceived by the public eye.
Lachnes has been making music for years at this point, has been on stage in front of large crowds, has had radio time and owns an extensive roster of music video content. His lived experience makes him a trustworthy source of information for anybody new to the creative industry, and he consistently volunteers at local studios to help people from all walks of life create and enjoy the art of music.
