For M4RTHA, success has never been about fitting into someone else's expectations. Whether she’s doing a runway walk, building a business or developing her music career, her approach is rooted in self-belief, persistence and an unwavering commitment to becoming the person she knows she's capable of being.

The South East Melbourne-based model and emerging artist recently sat down with us to discuss her journey so far, (often harsh) realities of the modelling industry, her first steps into music and why she believes Australia's creative scene is on the verge of a breakthrough.

From the outside, modelling often appears glamorous. The reality (according to M4RTHA) requires patience, preparation and strong people skills.

A typical show day can stretch for ten hours (yes, TEN HOURS). Most of that time is spent waiting, getting ready and connecting with others in the industry. For M4RTHA, networking is one of the most valuable parts of the experience.

She points out that models are naturally social people and your communication is just as important as your appearance. Success comes from the relationships built backstage rather than what happens on the runway itself.

As she continues developing her sound and expanding her presence, M4RTHA remains focused on the same goal that's guided her from the beginning - showing people exactly who she is, 'Regardless' of what they think.
